ZNS is a multi-disciplinary consulting firm, currently providing civil engineering, land planning, surveying, landscape architecture and construction engineering services. We have most recently taken part in several exciting projects, including master planned communities, community parks, commercial and industrial developments and master surface water management systems, among others.

Senior Civil Engineer / Designer

A Senior Civil Engineer at ZNS will perform, supervise and coordinate professional civil engineering work in the field and in the office, and perform related work as required for land development projects.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Professional and technical engineering
  • Engineering design and review
  • Plan production related to land development design

  • Review of plans and documents for quality assurance purposes
  • Providing value oriented design suggestions
  • Project management for commercial and residential developments

Required qualifications:

  • Proven technical ability with engineering principals and practices
  • Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD 2014/Civil 3D plan production, including:
  • Water and wastewater distribution systems
  • Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD 2014/Civil 3D plan production, including:
  • Surface water management systems
  • Drainage systems
  • Roadways
  • Any other similar land development related design

  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience and proficiency with ICPR (Interconnected Pond Modeling)

Entry Level Drafter

A ZNS Entry Level Drafter will be expected to work closely with Senior Civil Engineers to draft design concepts for commercial and residential developments.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Creating construction plans with direction from senior staff, including:
  • Water and wastewater distribution systems
  • Surface water management systems
  • Drainage systems

  • Roadways
  • Any other similar land development related design
  • Ensuring accuracy of completed plans

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum experience with AutoCAD 2014\Civil 3D Plan Production.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License

Civil Drafter / Designer

A ZNS Civil Drafter / Designer will be expected to work closely with Senior Civil Engineers to draft design concepts for commercial and residential developments.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Creating construction plans with direction from senior staff, including:
  • Water and wastewater distribution systems
  • Surface water management systems
  • Drainage systems
  • Roadways

  • Any other similar land development related design
  • Analyzing stormwater models and producing related reports and/or narratives
  • Ensuring accuracy of completed plans

Required qualifications:

  • Proven technical ability with engineering principals and practices
  • Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD 2014/Civil 3D plan production, including:
  • Water and wastewater distribution systems
  • Surface water management systems
  • Drainage systems
  • Roadways
  • Any other similar land development related design

  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel

Landscape Architect / Project Designer

A Landscape Architect / Project Designer at ZNS will primarily work with project managers to satisfy landscape related requirements for a variety of projects in all phases of the design process, both commercial and residential.

Any person in this position is expected to produce artistic concepts and renderings. All applicants should posses a variety of artistic skills, including production of hand-drawn graphics and digital renderings, to provide master plans, perspective visualizations, elevations, sections, details and plan graphics. Knowledge of digital enhancement techniques will also be expected.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing site layout options for projects
  • Assisting with design development
  • Producing construction documents

  • Completing site visits and providing related field reports
  • Creation of design presentations and reports

Required qualifications:

  • Proven technical ability with landscape architecture principles and practices
  • Familiarity and knowledge of Florida friendly design practices, plant materials and related USDA Zones
  • Familiarity and knowledge of low impact design standards
  • Familiarity and knowledge of Florida watering restrictions
  • Familiarity with Florida Grades and Standards
  • Familiarity with landscape and hardscape materials and their applications

  • Experience and proficiency with design software, including:
  • AutoCAD 2014 / Civil 3D
  • Adobe Photoshop

  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with construction and final site plan preparation for review by local governmental agencies
  • Currently licensed by the State of Florida as a Registered Landscape Architect

Construction Manager / Inspector

A ZNS Construction Manager will coordinate the construction process with the Engineer of Record for various projects and oversee the execution of the construction phase.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a basic understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Providing engineering services related to construction activities and project certifications
  • Administration, maintenance and quality control of construction documents including contracts, shop drawings, payment requests, cost estimates, requests for information, etc.

  • Coordination of construction plans and specifications with contractors
  • Site visits to verify progress and site conditions during construction
  • Performing operations and maintenance inspections and filing annual reports
  • Coordination of final certification packages to local governmental agencies and performing final inspections.

Required qualifications:

  • Experience and proficiency with construction coordination and administration
  • Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD 2014 / Civil 3D
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel

  • Experience with preparation of certification packages to governmental agencies
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience with land development projects
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License

Construction Field Technician

A ZNS Construction Field Technician will report directly to the construction manager and will perform a variety of field inspections, including but not limited to utility certification test and regular site/civil construction inspections.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Driving to and from job sites to do regular inspections.

  • Communicating results of inspections in a clear, concise manner

Required qualifications:

  • Experience and proficiency with general civil construction practices.
  • Experience and proficiency with inspection equipment, including:
  • Levels
  • Camera to document work.
  • Laptop computers

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience with construction.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license

Survey Field Technician

A ZNS Survey Field Technician will direct and supervise a survey crew performing a variety of surveys, including but not limited to boundary, control, topographic, utility, construction stake-out and as-built surveys.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Performing surveys
  • Communicating results of a survey in a clear, concise manner

  • Operation and maintenance of survey equipment
  • Directing and supervising a survey crew

Required qualifications:

  • Experience and proficiency with general surveying practices, boundary control and legal principles
  • Experience and proficiency with surveying equipment, including:
  • Robotic total stations
  • GPS survey equipment
  • Data collectors
  • Laptop computers

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience with land surveying
  • Clean driving record
